The ENT Department of PAF Hospital, Islamabad a teaching Hospital of Fazaia Medical College has highly qualified, competent & distinguished team of Consultants & Doctors geared to provide state of the art diagnostic & Therapeutic management. Both emergencies and cold cases are competently handled in this department. Our department is accredited for FCPS-II training and currently 7 postgraduate trainees are receiving training. The department is also accredited for House job Training. In OPD we have rigid endoscope with monitor for innovative teaching. This is complemented by fiberoptic laryngoscope for diagnosis.

4. Cochlear Implant Unit

• A dedicated Cochlear Implant Unit has been developed at the hospital
• More than 45 cochlear implant surgeries have been successfully performed to date
• Comprehensive post-implant rehabilitation is provided through the Speech Therapy Department

5. Bloodless Tonsillectomy – Coblation Technique

• Tonsillectomy is performed using the Coblation Technique
• This advanced technique enables tonsil removal with minimal bleeding and without the loss of a single drop of blood

6. Audiology Services

Our Audiology Department provides comprehensive hearing assessment services, including:

• Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)
• Tympanometry
• Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA)
• Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR)

7. Newborn Hearing Screening

Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) testing is available for the assessment and screening of hearing in newborns.

8. Speech & Language Therapy

• A dedicated Speech Therapy Department is functional within the hospital
• Post-cochlear implant patients receive structured speech and auditory rehabilitation
• Patients with speech and communication difficulties are provided with individualized speech therapy sessions
